JANUARY

We would like to wish all our friends and visitors to our site a Happy New Year and hope 2011 holds everything you wish for.

Now for a quick catch up as I've been sooooo very slack at keeping our Waterswarren News up to date, I feel a New Year's Resolution coming on.

December saw the last show of the season LKA - Millie and Gracie made the trip to Birmingham and we were delighted with Millie's 2nd place under judge Jenny Miller.  I spent far too much money stocking up on doggy essentials and making sure the grooming room too was full stocked for the New Year.

The puppies thoroughly enjoyed their first snow although Stevie was convinced if she tried hard enough she could clear the garden by eating all the snow.  The puppies photo pages have been updated.

We now look forward to 2011 with a new found enthusiasm and a plan of what we would like to achieve during the next 12 months - here's hoping xxxx  Good Luck to everyone in the coming year (unless you're in our classes - joke!!!!) and we hope to see you all soon.

FEBRUARY

Sunday 13th February

Yesterday Millie and I travelled down the road to Newark for Leicestershire Gundog open show.  A judge change resulted in Tom Isherwood judging our breed and it was lovely to see a good entry.  Millie won the puppy class picking up a JW point in the process, was 2nd in Junior and awarded another Best Puppy.  Later in the big ring under Lee Cox she once again did me proud and was awarded RBPIS, that's two such awards in less than a week.

To say I'm pleased is an understatement.  Our homebred girl has taken a little time to mature, find herself and begin to enjoy showing.  They say patience is a virtue and it's certainly proved it in Millie's case.  The show was a really good day with good company and lots of laughs - the way shows should be.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and sees the first birthday of our Valentine litter - I can't believe Babs's babies are one already - Happy Birthday to them all xxx

Monday 7th February

Well where on earth is the year going - February already - Blimey!!!!!!!

First a big Happy 1st Birthday to Gracie's babies - it seems only weeks ago I was sleeping on the sofa on "Puppy Watch".

Due to an dental abcess the size of Mount Etna I unfortunately missed a few shows so we were all well ready for yesterdays encounter at Merseyside Gundog, our first outing of 2011.

To support Jennie Tracz (Acregate) we travelled a little further than we would normally travel to open show but it proved well worth while.  Reggie was BOB, with Millie BP and then RBPIS - to say I was thrilled would be a massive understatement.  Thank you for a lovely day with fab company and espcially to Beth for handling Millie in the challenge for me.  Millie's gallery updated with pictures of the day.

We know of a lovely puppy bitch available so if anyone is looking for a beautiful pet who's just past the "nappy" stage please e-mail us for more details

MARCH

Friday 11th March

Well what can I say - following a huge build up Crufts has once again been and gone.

We had a super day Millie won the puppy class in strong competition with sister June being placed 3rd in the same class (well done Trudy).  I almost missed Gracie's class but was delighted when she was placed VHC in a huge PG class.  The day then just became a little surreal when Millie was awarded Best Puppy in Breed.  Her last every Puppy class and our first homebred to appear at Crufts - we are completely overwhelmed and very proud of our little star.  The judge today was Ann Corbett (Trimere).

Congratulations go out to all our friends who had a successful day too xxx

We've had a shocking start to the year but perhaps finally things are looking up

APRIL

Monday 11th April

Yesterday we travelled down the M1 to Leicester for the ESS Club Championship show, todays judge being Ray Smith.

The day proved to be super in every single way.  Great venue, superb company and the weather meant for the first time this year we were able to show outside - in fact the weather was more akin to August than April.

Millie was placed 3rd in a strong Junior class and then to my delight won Novice - the JW seems to be creeping a little closer into our grasp.  Not to be outdone by her Daughter, Babs (now up into Open) totally pulled out the stops to be placed 2nd gaining her Stud Book Number - thrilled is not the word - these are the days that make it all so worth while.

Our heartfelt congratulations go out to "Team Dexbenella", delighted to see you do the double with your girls and the rest of the team did you so proud too xxxxxx

Tuesday 5th April

I've once again been a bit slack on the news front despite my promise to keep the site updated on a more regular basis - the best laid plans hey!!!!!  Anyway time for a catch up with all things Waterswarren.

Well on the 26th March we made the long, long, long trip up to Scotland for the ESS Club of Scotland Championship show under judge Diane Conrad - Millie now being out of puppy was just entered into Novice, I was pleased when she was placed first.  The show was lovely , lunch was divine especially the lemon cheesecake and the sun even shone brightly all day.  Can't believe I actually bought a KFC Family Bucket on the way home (just for me - Paul was out) after packing so much in at lunchtime - remember if you're judging this year send us round a few times - I really could do with the exercise - lol

A week down the line and despite Tom Tom telling us we were still going to Scotland (due to me putting the postcode from the schedule the week before in - lol), we made it to Crewe for the Lancashire and Cheshire ESS Championship show, the judge for today being George Clarke.  Reggie was up with the Big Boys in open and did me proud being placed VHC behind four Sh Ch - he even manged to keep four feet on the ground for most of the class.  Millie was up against as well now up into Junior, I was delighted when she was placed 3rd behind two very strong and lovely bitches, later in Novice she was placed 2nd again behind I bitch I very much like myself - so no great disappointments but no great successes either.
